Swimming
Whether you want to stay in shape, have fun, or just relax: in Merano you can swim the whole year round
Indoor Pool
The modern Meranarena facility houses a competition pool (25×21 metres), one for non-swimmers (12×9 metres), and a diving pool with movable floor. The large windowon the north side of the building offers wonderful scenic views of the racecourse and Muta Peak. In the swimming hall, there are also lessons and aqua fitness sessions on offer. Water polo matches are sometimes played here as well.
There is a snack bar adjacent to the pool.
Opening Hours: from early October to late April. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.; Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Lido
You always have fun at the Lido — and not just because of the swimming pools. The Olympic pool, which has diving boards, and recreational pool, which has two slides, both ensure loads of fun in the water.
A large area with its own pool is dedicated wholly to the kids, as is a playground (complete with nursery), and picnic tables. The fun continues on the beach-volleyball court, basketball court, and ping-pong table.
Anyone looking to relax will enjoy the Lido’s sun chairs: they represent an ideal spot from which to dive…into the pages of a book – perhaps even one discovered in the library located just inside the structure. The Lido also offers a bar and restaurant on its interior terrace.
Opening hours 2013: from the 25th of May to the 31st of May (11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.), from the 1st of June to the 1st of September (from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.)
