The Lagundo Waalweg

The trail runs from Quarazze (Gratsch) to Tel, passing above old Lagundo, Plars di Mezzo (Mitterplars) and Plars di Sopra (Oberplars) and leading through a series of meadows, chestnut groves and vineyards. The Merano Valley Basin below is visible along the entire length of the trail. If you start from Tel, you can keep going after you pass Quarazze and continue on the Tappeinerweg Trail (see p. 62), which leads to Merano. This Waal canal was built in the fourteenth century utilising water from the Adige River.
