A night spent outdoors in the mountains, far from the lights and the noise of civilization, triggers a strong emotional response. To immerse oneself in nature is a unique experience and provides a feeling of boundless freedom.
This experience can be made at the Salewa Basecamp Merano. Each year, a camp consisting of 10 mountain tents is set up in the Merano 2000 ski area, at a height of 2,300 meters, by the world-famous mountain sports equipment company Salewa. Boasting 80 years of expertise and know how in alpinism and winter sports, Salewa has outfitted some of the world’s best alpinists, providing them with sturdy, reliable gear. The tents are fully equipped and warm, thus allowing for a highly special overnight-stay outdoors, surrounded by nature.
The new Meran 2000 cable car takes just seven minutes to whisk visitors from Merano up to an altitude of 2000 metres. A one-hour walk brings you to the bottom station of the Mittager chairlift, which then takes you directly to the heart of the Sarntaler Alps and up to the Kleiner Mittager, where the Salewa Basecamp Merano is set up.
The price for one night at the Salewa Basecamp Merano includes the round trip on the Meran 2000 cable car and the Mittager chairlift, the company of a guide during the walk from the top station of the Meran 2000 cable car to the bottom station of the Mittager chairlift, two meals (dinner, drinks are not included!) and breakfast at the Mittager Hut, plus a Salewa sleeping bag for you to keep.
